In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important ideas on youth work, lead the vast number of young people to inherit and carry forward the spirit of the December 9th Movement, and stimulate their deep patriotic feelings and sense of national responsibility, on December 4th, the university held a themed event to commemorate the December 9th Movement. Kang Junping, Secretary of the University Party Committee, attended the event. Liang Lili (Director of the Student Affairs Office), deputy secretaries of the Party Branch and vice deans of each college, secretaries of the Youth League branch, some student counselors, and all first-year students participated in the event. The event was presided over by Qiao Yu, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the university.

The event included four events: 20.4-kilometer relay race, tug of war, six-person seven-foot race, and collective rope-skipping race. A total of 53 teams and 488 students participated. In the competition, the contestants bravely moved forward like a torch, igniting the enthusiasm of student sports, dispelling the cold winter, and becoming a unique scenery on the winter campus.

Commemorating the December 9th Movement is a respect and inheritance of history. Through activities, the spirit of the December 9th Movement takes root and sprouts in the hearts of young students, inspiring them to take their predecessors as role models, study hard, innovate bravely, shoulder the mission of the times, and forge ahead on the journey of the new era. The Youth League Committee will continue to do a good job in ideological guidance, deeply explore resources, innovate educational forms, and enable young students to deeply understand the patriotism and sense of responsibility of their predecessors, so that correct values and firm beliefs can be firmly rooted in their hearts.
